Shorpy

I recently became aware of a website that is dedicated to posting high resolution images some of which are 100 years old- www.shorpy.com   It has an amazing collection of images across a broad spectrum of subject matter.

The site is named after a fourteen year old Alababa mine worker- Henry Sharp "Shorpy" Higginbotham.  Shorpy was employed as an oiler on the tipple at Bessie Mine, near Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.  There are four photos of Shorpy and additional biographical information.  Find those here  .
